A seven-hour siege with exchange of heavy gunfire came to an end at 11:40 a.m. local time (5:40 a.m. ET) that killed two suspects after more than 100 French police and army troops stormed an apartment in northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

A young woman wearing an explosive-packed vest blew herself during the raid after firing rounds at the police. Several police were injured and a police dog named Diesel, 7-year-old, was killed too. Seven people were arrested including one woman.

According to officials, a Belgian jihadist named Abdelhamid Abaaoud is being suspected of being a mastermind in the Friday night Paris attacks that killed at least 129 innocent people and injured about 300.

As of now it is not known whether Abaaoud was among those arrested.

Police raided the apartment at 4:30 a.m. Local Time after getting information another terror attack is in work. At 7:30 a.m. Local Time several explosions were heard.

Police helicopter found a man was trying to escape the apartment immediately after the women blew herself. He too was firing at the police. He was targeted by the police and killed.

All the people were advised to remain indoors on today and schools too in the Saint Denis area were closed.

It is also reported the French President Francois Hollande watched the Saint Denis operation from Elysee palace with PM and other important ministers.

US President Barack Obama was kept informed about the developments.
