Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his account of Infowars have been completely banned on Twitter. His @realalexjones and @infowars have been permanently suspended on Periscope as well.

The move of social platform is based on the newly posted videos and tweets that violate abusive behavior policy.

A day before Trump’s administration said some of the tech giants may face legal crackdown over political bias.

About 900,000 people followed Jones on Twitter and his Infowars account had another 430,000 followers. Twitter said he won’t be able to create new accounts and can’t take over the existing one stoo.

The micro blogging platform added other accounts potentially associated with him will be under monitoring process so that no attempt is made to circumvent the ban.

Twitter’s action is being praised and New Jersey Democratic Rep. Frank Pallone said, “Tweets designed to threaten, belittle, demean and silence individuals have no place on this platform.”

However, Jones is still active on Facebook. His posts have been removed from Spotify, YouTube and Apple.

Twitter had earlier resisted the calls to suspend Jones but for about a weeks in August it prevented him from posting.

Jones rose to fame for disputing veracity of the 9/11 attacks and also the Sandy Hook school massacre. He described the two incidences as elaborate hoax.

Some of the parents of Sandy Hook victims are pursuing a defamation case against Jones.
