India has officially asked China to stop, with immediate effect, the Chinese construction activities in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The information came from Minister of State in the External Affairs Ministry V K Singh who said the same to Rajya Sabha in a written response to a question.

Singh added that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and this is something which the country is consistent about.

He mentioned that a part of the state has been forcibly occupied by Pakistan.

The minister further said, “Government is aware of Chinese construction activities in PoK. The government has conveyed to the Chinese side, including at the highest level, its concern over these activities, which we see as violating our sovereignty and territorial integrity. We have asked the Chinese side to cease these activities.”

Responding to another question in writing Singh said the government is closely monitoring the Pakistan-promoted propaganda on social media that misleads people of Kashmir and measures are being taken to maintain law and order to safeguard national security and national interest.

Singh added an informal summit meet was held between Indian PM and Chinese President earlier this year and the two leaders discussed about cooperation.

The MoS said, “Both sides agreed to undertake capacity building programme for Afghan diplomats in India and China later this year.”
