BREAKING: Suicide Blast At Northwestern Pakistan Mosque; 22 Dead

At least 22 people have been killed and 70 others are injured after a powerful suicide explosion occurred at a mosque in Parachinar city in northwestern Pakistan.

The Taliban militants group has claimed responsibility of the attack. News agency AFP reports to have received a message from Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) claiming the blast.

JuA is a faction of Pakistani Taliban.

Local official Ikramullah Khan confirmed 22 people have been killed in the explosion and 70 others are injured.

Sajid Hussain, a parliamentarian from the city, said the explosion was a suicide attack and gunfire was heard before the blast.

A medical source said 57 people are injured in the blast.

A nearby hospital said they have received dozens of injured and an appeal has also been made for blood donors.

Condemning the attack Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, “The network of terrorists has already been broken and it is our national duty to continue this war until the complete annihilation of the scourge of terrorism from our soil.”
