British PM Theresa May Announces Discount Homes To First-Time Young Buyer

British Prime Minister Theresa May said Monday to be providing homes to young first-time buyers. Developers will be selling those houses under second big housing pledge at 20 percent discount.

The age group for the first-time buyers is between 23 and 40 years and thirty areas around Britain to unlock land to build the houses, construction of which to start early 2017.

May added the homes will be made available to buy from next year.

The PM also vowed earlier this week to be building 14 new garden villages and 3 new garden towns across the country to boost housing stock and tackle shortage of homes.

Housing Ministers Gavin Barwell said the Theresa May government is committed to building starter homes to help young first-time buyers.

He added, “This first wave of partnerships shows the strong local interest to build thousands of starter homes on hundreds of brownfield sites in the coming years. One in three councils has expressed an interest to work with us so far.”

About 30 new partnerships will local councils is expected to be announced for having early completion potentiality in a day or two.
