Mateen, the man behind Orlando mass shooting, used Android smartphone if believed to the authorities citing his selfies posted on social media earlier by him.

Not much tech setup is yet known by authorities about Mateen and law enforcement may face issues accessing information on his phone as in the case of the iPhone of San Bernardino shooting that took place last year in December.

FBI now has the cellphone and electronics of Mateen, but there has been no comment about what type of device he used or whether the investigation team has surfaced the encryption in accessing information.

Google too has declined to comment being the maker of Android operating system.

It is not yet known whether Mateen used a phone device during the course of the attack.

Meanwhile, authorities have released the names of all the 49 killed in Orlando gay club mass shooting and said their age range was from 18 to 50 and included an accountant, a barista, and a recent high school grad too.

Authorities say it is the deadliest mass shooting and the worst terror attack since 9/11 in the US.

Born as Omar Mir Seddique Mateen in 1966 in New York, the gunman lived in an apartment complex in Fort Pierce, about 120 miles southeast of Orlando, and married in 2009. His wife is originally from Uzbekistan and parents from Afghanistan. In 2011 he filed for divorce.
