There has been no announcement yet made by Google about what watch hardware will be getting its Android Wear 2.0 update that is slated to be released later in 2016.

However, if believed to sources, it is likely the first-generation watches will not be receiving the update.

LG said there is no plan to update the original LG G Watch. Motorola too echoed in similar tone saying it has dropped the plan to support its original Moto 360. Samsung announced the same for its Samsung Gear Live.

It should be a sad news for the owners of the first-generation smartwatches on Android platform as many of the watches were introduced just two years before.

The hardware of Moto 360 was always underpowered, even from the day one. Even now the LG G uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC.

Many of the recent Android Wear updates included support for Wi-Fi, LTE and internal speakers.

Do you own one of such first-generation smartwatch? Is it okay for you not to get the upcoming Android Wear 2.0 update? Do share your views and pain as well with us and fellow readers in the below given comment box.
