The leading Leave campaigner added delay means door remains open for anti-campaigners to stop Brexit.

May had earlier talked about waiting until early 2017 before triggering the process, which may take two yeras to complete negotiations.

However, Whittingdale said he finds no reason why the Brexit process should be delayed.

He mentioned, “Article 50 is the beginning of the process rather than the end… I don’t say that it has to happen tomorrow but I would like it to happen pretty soon, and by that I mean weeks, not months.”

In July this year Whittingdale was left out of May’s Cabinet and his latest comments come when it is learned Britons need to apply for visas for traveling in Europe post Brexit.

After getting sacked as culture secretary the 56-year-old decided to try something new. He disagrees with May’s approach that the government needs time to prepare for Brexit.

About ten members of the cabinet were left out in July and so he is not singled out. It cannot be wrapped up Whittingdale is angry with May. So, what he is trying to prove. Let’s discuss.
