French Church Attackers Smiled After Slitting Priest: Witness

The terrorists who slit elderly priest on Tuesday in a Normandy church smiled happily after their act, said two nuns who were taken hostage on the day.

The two attackers tried to flee the 17th century Catholic church after killing Father Jacques Hamel and seriously injuring an elderly parishioner when the French police shot them dead.

Two days after the attack the nuns, in their early 80, were still shocked but while talking to La Vie, a Catholic newspaper, revealed the attackers, Abdel Malik Petitjean and Adel Kermiche, both 19, smiled and talked peace and God after slitting throat of the priest.

According to Sister Huguette and Sister Helene Decaux, the armed men were aggressive and also nervous as well.

After their act one man asked Sister Helene whether she is familiar with the Quran to which she replied, “Yes, I respect it like I respect the Bible, I’ve read several suras. And those that hit me in particular are the suras about peace.”

The attacker replied they want peace and their attacks will continue as long as Syria is bombed.

France is part of the US-led coalition that is fighting against the ISIS militants group in Syria through a bombing campaign.

One of the attackers said later to the sisters that Jesus cannot be both man and God.
