The recall is of the 16-ounce bags only bearing a ‘better if used by’ date of June 29, 2017.

According to Minneapolis-based company, no illnesses related to their recalled product have yet been reported.

Earlier, in August this year, there was a similar recall too. The company collected back 60,000 bags of Cascadian Farm green beans in 10-ounce packages bearing an expiry date of April 2016. The lot was produced in March 2014.

Food-safety experts said listeria blossoms in refrigerated environments. It is a tricky and virulent pathogen without usually causing significant illnesses, but it do pose high risk for pregnant women, older adults, newborns and those who have weakened immune systems.

In the wake of listeria risk the Blue Bell Creameries LP too has pulled off its ice cream from the shelves in April this year. It recalled 30,000 cases of hummus.
