Google Starts Rolling Out July Security Patch For Nexus Devices

The July security patch for Nexus is out now. Below are the build versions along with the devices that can be updated:

MTC19X – Nexus 6P
MTC19Z – Nexus 5X
MMB30K or MOB300 for Nexus 6
MOB30P or MMB30M – Nexus 7 (2013 model)
MOB30P – Nexus 5, Nexus 9 and Nexus Player

It is usual practice, but yet important to note the update is over-the-air (OTA) and the rollout to conclude in a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, Google has also made available factory images for all the devices and also the OTA files so that users can install manually if don’t want to wait for a week or two for the rollout to take place in the device.

It is important to note too that flashing the device will wipe away data on the device and so it is suggested to wait for the rollout if you are not worth the hassle. This is wiser option.
