Later this week the big and much awaited event of Apple will be held to announce the upcoming flagships iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

iPhone Sales Shrinked In 2016 First Half- Telstyle

Just ahead of the big day Telstyle reveals smartphone run on Android operating system are increasing popularity in Australia and the sales of Apple phones are shrinking.

It is further revealed the Android phones made up 62 percent of unit sales in the first half of this year compared to 55 percent in the first half of 2015 where as the iPhones made up just 35 percent in the same period compared to 41 percent last year.

Many may believe the trend is such as it’s been a while since the last iPhone was launched and the upcoming Apple event would reverse the fortune. However, it is also contradicting as the new iPhones will come with just modest uptake compared to iPhone 5 and iPhone 6.

Also, it make sense that Android outsell iPhones as several manufacturers make Android phones where as only Apple offers iPhones.

More to this, the Android phones are sold offering a variety of features and also at a variety of price points.

If once again believed to Telstyle, the Android phones sale has grown across the range, which means both high-end as well as low-end.

The market leaders in the first half of 2016 in terms of smartphone sales were Samsung, Apple and Huawei in chronological order.
