Lefties Observing International Left Handers Day

Today is International Left Handers Day and it is observed in most of the countries believing left-handers are associated with talent and intelligence. A data reveals ten percent of such people are known as genius and have been associated with increased mathematical skills.

Science says the right hemisphere of human brain is related to creativity, reasoning and logic, and left-handers have more evolved right brain hemisphere.

One theory claims those people who use left hands more tend to be mssterminds because both hemispheres of their brains are used and hence they are able to process information comparacitvely easily.

Across the world up to 13 percent of people use left hands and some of the well known lefties are Aristotle, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mozart, Mark Twain and Marie Curie. Lately it is not to forget Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Bill Gates and Lionel Messi too are lefties.

IFL Science reveals left-handers out-performed others in their studies. More than two thousand students of both left-handers and right-handers were asked to carry out a mathematical experiment. The survey writes, “left-handers outperformed the rest of the sample when the tasks involved difficult problem-solving, such as associating mathematical functions to a given set of data”.

However, IFL Science writes the study found no difference between the two sections when simple arithmetic task was given and extreme right-handers comparatively under-performed in all the experiments.
