In a new study it is found the benefits of bearing a child at older age are compelling.

Details of the finding are published in The European Journal of Developmental Psychology. Nearly 5,000 mothers and children in Denmark were studied. The mom-child dyads were traced longitudinally when the kids were 7 years old, 11 years old and 15 years old.

The researchers found the older women resorted to less verbal and physical punishment compared to the younger ones. However, in the 15 years old age the older mothers had less behavioral, social and emotional problems than the younger moms.

Another study of 28,000 women in the United States conducted last year found older moms live longer.

A 2016 study published in the Population and Development Review found the kids born to older women were physically fit, had better grades in school and were taller compared to the kids born to younger moms.

Those mother who had babies via egg donation after the age of fifty were more energetic than the younger mothers.

Meanwhile, the maternal age in the US for first baby has risen to 25. Before year 2000 it was 25.

Data reveals 25 percent of the births take place to women of age 35 and above in Sweden. In Denmark the share is 40 percent.
