President Trump to address nation Tuesday night

President Trump will be addressing to the citizens Tuesday night and he will talk about the proposed US-Mexico border wall. It is feared he may declare a national emergency.

The president tweeted, “I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border. Tuesday night at 9pm Eastern.”

There’s a law that a president can declare an emergency.

Meanwhile, the Democrats have warned Trump that emergency could be challenged in courts. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said, “We will oppose any effort by the president to make himself a king and a tyrant. The president has no authority to usurp Congress’s power of the purse.”

Trump will be visiting the border on Wednesday amid the ongoing partial government shutdown, on its 18th day now, that has left about 800,000 federal employees to work without paycheck.

The president has refused to accept any proposal of Congress that would not fund the border wall. He has demanded about $5 billion.

Trump’s address to the nation will be followed by response of Democrats.

Democrats leaders Senator Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the address of Trump will be full of malice and misinformation and so the Democrats will be given equal airtime.

Trump had earlier said all the previous presidents support his mission of border wall, but four of the living ex-presidents have denied to have talked about the matter in favor of the president.
