Private Jet Carrying 11 From UAE To Turkey Crashes In Iran, All Dead

A Turkish private jet crashed late Sunday afternoon in a mountainous region of Iran due to heavy rain. Eleven people were on board and all of them is learned to have lost their lives.

The jet was flying from United Arab Emirates to Istanbul carrying young women. It is yet not known who were on the plane.

According to Iranian state television the jet hit a mountain near Shahr-e Kord, about 370 km south of capital city Tehran, and burst into flames.

Spokesman of the plane, Mojtaba Khaledi, said the local villagers rushed to the crash site and found only badly burned bodies, and so DNA tests need to be done to identify them.

A news agency writes the villagers saw flamces coming out of the engine before crashing in the Zagros Mountains.

It is learned the plane crashed about one hour after taking off from Sharjah International Airport at the altitude of just over 35,000 feet.

Flight-tracking website FlightRadar24 writes the plane gained altitude and within minutes dropped drastically.

The plane has been identified as a Bombardier CL604 and its tail number is TC-TRB. It belonged to Basaran Holding.

About a month ago an Iranian ATR-72 crashes in southern Iran and all the 65 on-board people were killed.
