South Sudan war seems unending. Vice President Riek Machar said their positions were attacked by the government forces in capital Juba.

His military spokesman Col. William Gatjiath said President Salva Kir is not serious about a peace agreement.

Hundreds of people were killed in attacks over the weekend that damaged properties too including that of UN mission where people in huge number had taken shelter.

Gatjiath added hundreds of Machar’s troops died while his supporters were advancing to the capital through different routes.

However, Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth said the war reports were dishonest and situation in the capital is under control.

On Friday about 150 people were killed in fighting. Saturday was a calm day.

According to local radio station Radio Tamazuj, the death toll rose to 271 by Sunday.

South Sudan gained independence in 2011 and is said to be shifting its capital to more centrally located Ramciel from Juba. It is bordered by Sudan in the north, Kenya in the souteast, Ethiopia to the east, Uganda to the south, Central African Republic to the west and Democratic Republic of the Congo to the southwest.
