Australian authorities have charged five people for terrorist attack conspiracy on a government building, a federal police headquarters. One of them is just a 15-year-old teen boy and alarm is being expressed to the age at which he is radicalized.

The boy was arrested along with a 20-year-old man today morning in Sydney’s west. Three other men charged of the same office are currently in jail and they are aged 21, 22, and 22.

The teenager and the man planned for the attack in 2014. If the boy is convicted of terror charge, he may face life in prison.

The arrest was part of Operation Appleby and Canberra is concerned about lone-wolf attacks by individuals. The terror alert was increased last year in the country and new national security laws were also introduced. Since then several counter-terrorism raids have been conducted.

Meanwhile, it is reported the father of teenager has agreed to pay the court $400,000 in surety if granted bail to ensure his son reported daily to the police.

The bail decision has been reserved by Magistrate Elizabeth Ryan until Friday morning.

Seeing a teenage boy in such environment is disturbing, said NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn.
