The price of parasite drug Daraprim was raised by 4,000 percent in August this year after Turing Pharmaceuticals acquired the exclusive right of selling it.

Now, after huge public backlash, the CEO Martin Shkreli has announced of roll back to make the drug more affordable. Currently it is being sold for %750 per pill, but earlier, before the price hike, it was sold for $13.5 per pill only.

Shkreli has not yet confirmed how much price cut will be made. Instead, he said the decision has been taken and in next few weeks the new price list will be disclosed.

Daraprim is the only US-approved treatment for toxoplasmosis and hence outrage was sparked from medical groups representing doctors who care for patients suffering from infectious diseases like HIV.

Daraprim drug helps in the treatment with compromised immune systems.
