US Airstrike Hits Afghan Hospital, Kills 19

Believed to be an American airstrike in Kunduz, Afghanistan, 19 people have been killed when it hit a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders on Saturday.

The US military has confirmed about the airstrike that took place at around 2:15 a.m. The statement reads individuals were targeted who were threatening the force and hence collateral damage may have taken place to a nearby hospital.

Even hours later of the airstrikes fires were burning and a nurse described colleagues were badly burned in the incidence.

The nurse managed to climb out of the debris. He said few of the people are still missing and it is assumed they may have been burried in the rubble.

In the evening a statement was released by President Ashraf Ghani who apologized for the airstrike.

The Kunduz City came under control of the Taliban group on Monday and over the last three days intense fighting has been seen often.
