WWE Wrestler Chyna Found Dead At Home; Cause Not Yet Known

WWE legend Chyna was found dead in her Redondo Beach home on Wednesday afternoon. She was 46 and born as Joan Marie Laurer.

Anthony Anzaldo, manager of the wrestler and actress, revealed the news saying the cause of death is not known. Chyna was found dead on her bed.

Redondo Beach police received a call of her death at around 3:25 p.m.

Lt. Todd Heywood said the officers are investigating but until now no foul play signs have been found.

A statement released by police department read, “The Redondo Beach Police received a 911 call from a friend of the apartment unit resident that the female inside was not breathing.”

Chyna rose to fame in the mid 1990s. She was also billed as the “9th Wonder of the World.”

Her wrestling predecessor Andre the Giant called himself the “8th Wonder of the World.”

The Rockester, N.Y. native had performed as an actor too in mainstream films as well as for adult entertainment videos.

In 2001 the autobiography of Chyna was the New York Times bestseller.

Before taking up wrestling as her profession she graduated from the University of Tampa. She left WWE in 2001 and posed for Playboy. She appeared in “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew,” “The Surreal Life” and several other reality TV shows.
