Finally there is a possibility of invasion, literally, by North Korea to its southern neighbor. Talks with South Korea has come to a conclusion that athletes will be sent to Pyeongchang for the Winter Olympics.

Talks between North Korea and South Korea were held today at the border village of Penmunjom and the request of South to send large delegations was accepted readily by the northern negotiators.

It is also learned North Korea will be sending a cheering squad and a performance-art troupe too.

North Korea has been participating in Summer Olympics since 1972, but it boycotted the 1984 and 1988 Games in Los Angeles and Seoul respectively. Over the period of eight years the participation in the Winter Olympics next month will be the first by the country.

North Korea and South Korea together were suppose to host the 1988 Olympics, but talks fell apart and it is claimed it tried disrupting the Games by planting a bomb on a Korean Air passenger plane in 1987. All the 115 on-board were killed in the terrorist attack.

The latest talks between the two nations were relayed live to Seoul to help officials scrutinize the tactics of northern neighbor. North Korea also transmitted audio of closed-circuit TV footage to its capital Pyongyang.
