UNF pioneer Wickremesinghe sworns as Sri Lanka’s PM 4th time

UNF pioneer Ranil Wickremesinghe on Friday took promise as Sri Lanka’s PM at a function at the presidential secretariat here.

Wickremesinghe took promise before President Maithripala Sirisena, reports Xinhua news office.

This is the fourth time Wickremesinghe is turning into the PM of the island country. He drove the United National Front to a triumph in Monday’s parliamentary races.

His gathering crushed the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) by winning 106 seats in the 225-part parliament. The UPFA won 95 seats.

After the service, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the greatest coalition accomplice in the UNF, said it would frame a united government.

The SLFP, headed by President Sirisena, has said on Thursday that it would join the UNF for a long time. Also, if the united government was fruitful, it would proceed with the test. “If not, we will withdraw toward the end of two years,” SLFP senior part A.H.M. Fowzie said.

Wickremesinghe positioned first in the particular votes list by winning more than 500,000 votes from Colombo locale.
Previous president Mahinda Rajapakse went to Friday’s function. He has said he will remain a MP and sit in the resistance seats.
