BREAKING: Fire Breaks At Mumbai’s Crystal Tower Building; 4 Killed

Fire broke on the 12th storey of 17-storeyed Crystal Tower building at Hindmata in Panel Wednesday morning killing four, including an elderly 62-year-old woman named Subhadha Shelke, and wounding sixteen people who are being treated at nearby KEM Hospital.

The building is in posh Dadar area and fire quickly spread to the upper floors and adjacent flats as well.

ANI news agency tweeted twenty fire tenders rushed to the spot and some people were taken to hospital after rescue.

Fire department officials said later the blaze was under control and they are implementing cooling operations.

Mumbai Fire Brigade chief P S Rahangdale said a fire message was received by them at 8:32 a.m. and they later found fire fighting system of the building was not under working condition. More to this, the electric duct on each floor level was not sealed.

Rahangdale further added that the fire was confined to electric wiring in electric duct from 12th to 16th floor in common corridor, lift lobby and other places. of the building.

Meanwhile, the building has been declared unsafe. DMCR has been informed to cut water supply and disconnect electric supply of it.
