The plane parts were intended for China and Yaohong Gong diverted it illegally from Canada.

According to US Attorney Jet A. Violanti, Gong is a Chinese national and no ties to the community are yet known.

The women was arrested with her 9-year-old son before she could cross the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. It is believed she was heading to Toronto where her family lives.

Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is an international bridge between the United States and Canada.

The Florida resident is alleged to have told companies the parts were headed for China or Hong Kong, but actually those were being directed to Iran.

If Gong is convicted, she may face up to 10 years in prison and deportation.

Earlier this year, in May, six Chinese nationals were charged by the Justice Department for stealing trade secrets from US companies.

Gong’s 9-year-old son is currently in Niagara County in the custody of child protection.

Is their loophole in the system or people like Gong is extra smart to smuggle such sensitive shipment easily? Share your own views with us and fellow readers in the below given comment box.
