Emergency Maternity Hospital In Syria Airstriked, 2 Killed

Save The Children charity group said their maternity hospital, Syria Relief, has been hit by an airstrike in the northern Syria’s Idlib Province. Two people have been killed and several others are wounded.

The Syria Relief maternity hospital was largest in the area, but currently is mostly closed only leaving the emergency department operating.

The airstrike hit main gate of the building damaging the electric generator.

The Idlib Province is dominated by al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front and usually the Syrian government and Russia launches airstrike in the area, but it is not yet clear who is responsible for the latest incident.

Meanwhile, the United States coalition is in talks with Russia on joint attacks against Nusra.

The Syria Relief hospital is learned to be the only maternity hospital in northwestern Idlib.

It is yet to be known how long the facility would be out of commission after the incident.
