IMAX To Setup Private Theater For $400K

If you love watching movies at theaters and don’t get enough time to visit frequently, IMAX has come forward with a good solution to it. Its Private Theatre division can help in building a cinema setup for you at your own home.

The entry-level cost is reported to be at $400K for an IMAX cinema setup with 18 seats. It will be equipped with a dual 4K 2D/3D projectors, a media playback system to support eveything including television, games and Blu-ray, and a preprietary IMAX sound system.

IMAX has not yet revealed the exact specifications of the projectors, but it is learned the size of the screen may vary from one setup to another. The average size would be 3 meters.

The entry-level is branded as “Palais” and next comes the “Platinum” level. It is costly and comes at a price of $1 million. It is equipped with much larger screen and seats for forty people.

IMAX has its both the levels Private Theater in China and is now learned three such setup are to hit the US. The service will also be expanded to Europe at some point.
