Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the BRICS summit in Brazil scheduled to be held on November 13 and 14. Since 2014 this would be his sixth participation and first being at Fortaleza.

It is also expected a large business delegation would accompany the leader to attend the BRICS Business Forum to meet business community of five countries.

It is learned separate bilateral meetings would be held between Modi and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as well as the Chinese Premier Xi Jinping.

Modi is planned to attend the BRICS business forum closing ceremony too apart from the ”closed and plenary sessions of the summit.

The discussions in the closed session are said to be focused on opportunities and challenges while exercising national sovereignty.

This would be the eleventh edition of BRICS summit and the discussions in its plenary session are expected to be on intra-BRICS cooperation for the economic development of BRICS societies.

Modi is scheduled to meet the leaders of the BRICS Business Council and it is expected the chairman of Brazilian BRICS Business Council and president of the new Development Bank would submit reports.

BRICS MoU between trade and investment promotion agencies is expected to be signed during the summit and the leaders would be issued on the conclusion.

The BRICS nations together have 23 percent of the global GDP.
