ISIS Fighter Kills Own Mother In Syria Charging Apostasy

A fighter for Islamic State militants group killed Thursday his own mother in Public in the Syrian city of Raqqa, their de facto capital, near the post office where she worked. Hundreds of people watched the execution.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently groups has confirmed the killing reporting she was in her 40s.

Activists said the woman was 35.

The fighter was 21-year-old Ali Saqr and it is claimed his mother Lena al-Qasem tried to persuade him to leave the extremist group.

The two monitoring groups said the mother use to work in Raqqa and lived in nearby town of Tabaqa.

ISIS has carried out similar executions earlier too. Last year the group killed a Lebanese father who had traveled to Syria to bring back his son who has joined the ISIS.

In 2014 a woman was stoned to death after she was charged with adultery.

Similarly, the same year a Jordanian pilot was burned alive inside a metal cage in Raqqa.

More to all these, the ISIS militants have in past posted online several images of beheadings of captured foreigners, aid workers and journalists including British and Americans.
