The nun who was taken hostage Tuesday in a village church in northern France said the priest was first forced to his knees and thereafter was killed when he attempted to resist.

ISIS Takes Credit Of French Church Attack

ISIS has claimed responsibility of the attack saying the men who slit the throat of the 85-year-old priest were soldiers of their network.

About ten days before more than 80 people were killed during the celebration of Bastille Day in Rivera city of Nice in south of France by a large truck that plowed through the crowd.

One of the attackers of the church was identified as 19-year-old Adel Kermiche who had been known to anti-terrorist investigators and his parents had earlier too alerted about him being radicalized.

It is learned Kermiche was arrested twice last year while he attempted to travel to Syria by using his brother’s identity and cousin’s ID card in Germany and Turkey respectively.

The authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the second attacker, but have arrested his younger brother who tried earlier to seek entry into Syria.

A nun said the attackers recorded themselves during the attack and did a sort of sermon around the altar in Arabic.

The fresh attack has put more pressure on European security officials.

A Vatican spokesman said Pope Francis has condemned the attack. He was shaken by the horror of the violence in the church and killing of the priest.
