Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is on the way to Chinese capital Beijing after attending a conference on Somalia in London to discuss better ties and partnership with China.

Ahead of his journey he briefed the press at the State House in Nairobi to be talking about more acceptances of Kenyan products in the Chinese market. He said to be deepening bilateral relationship with the Chinese and will be focussing more on the Standard Gauge Railway project that will be extended beyond Naivasha to Kisumu, to Ugandan hinterlands, Rwanda and Congo too.

Kenyatta added will be trying to push more African goods into the Chinese market and about the railway he said the Chinese company will help in completing it beyond the Kenyan borders.

The president continued, “I do not see it as a Kenyan railway but as an African railway. It is a railway line that links Asia to Africa and ultimately to the Americans as we look forward.”

Meanwhile, last month it was reported Kenya has emerged to be the third top destination in Africa for rich individuals. A report reveals the country has beaten Mauritius and Seychelles.

The Afrasia New World Wealth report reveals the High Net-Worth Individuals (NHWIs) highly preferred Kenya after South Africa and Morocco.

In 2016 4,000 NHWI visited Kenya and the figure was 5,000 for Morocco and 15,000 for South Africa.
