Nigerian President Buhari Says His Wife Belongs To Kitchen

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said on his visit to Germany that his wife belongs to his kitchen, living room and other room, and he does not know apart from this in which party she belongs.

Buhari was responding to the criticism from his wife. Aisha Buhari said she may not support the president at the next election unless he got a grip on his government.

The president commented while standing next to Chancellor Angela Market and it is reported she glared at him. He was responding to the questions of reporters present at the venue and said he has superior knowledge over his wife as he has run thrice for president and have succeeded at the fourth attempt.

Earlier his wife said to BBC her husband’s government has been hijacked by just few people.

Aisha added Buhari does not know most of the officials who have been appointed and despite being his wife for 27 years she too does not know them.

Meanwhile, the response of Buhari to his wife has been met with outrage on social media.

In the 2015 election Aisha campaigned vigorously for Buhari. She had organized town hall meetings with youth organizations and women’s groups across Nigeria.

Initially she had low profile and was also barely seen or heard. It is learned Aisha was restricted to her work on women empowerment and this is seen as one of the reasons she criticized Buhari.
