North Korean Leader Kim Ready For Direct Talk With White House

In latest update about tensions between United States and North Korea it is reported Pyongyang would be discussing the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula with White House.

In direct contacts between officials of both the nations it is learned North Korea has relayed to the Trump administration that its leader is willing to talk with Doanld Trump about the sky sticking point in their relations.

A report from Associated Press writes, “The confirmation from Pyongyang directly, rather than from third countries like South Korea, has created more confidence within Trump’s administration about the wisdom of holding such a meeting, as U.S. officials make secretive preparations.”

It is yet to understand what exactly do North Korean leader Kim Jong Un mean by fsaying denuclearization. It may mean just halting its weapons program if not eliminating those together.

Meanwhile, The New York Times argues that there is no guarantee about the discussion between Kim and Trump to really take place.

The newspaper adds, “It is also unclear what kind of concessions the United States would be willing to make to secure commitments from Pyongyang.”

However, if the talks happen, it will be first-ever between a sitting US president and Kim.

Official in the office of South Korea’s president said they are aware contact between the two nations is going well.
