Russia Bombards Syrian Areas Held By Rebel From Caspian Sea Too

A coordinated assault by land, air as well as sea has been unleashed by Russia and Syria on Wednesday to regain the lost territory from the rebel groups.

According to Moscow, the country has first 26 cruise missiles from its naval vessels in the Caspian Sea. It is yet to be known whether the missiles hit the area of rebels.

The coordinated attack is now in its early stages and has revealed an outline of the alliance of Russia, Syria, Iran and militant group Hezbollah.

Syria has been suffering civil war for more than four years and a quarter of a million people have been killed and half the country has been displaced.

Officials said Russia has focused the attacks not on the Islamic State, but on the insurgent coalition called Jaish al-Fatah or Army of Conquest.

The Wenesday’s attacks seem to have reached a new levels of intensity. Video footage showed a dozen explosives in one region and white smoke was seen rising above a village’s minarets.

The main focus of the attack was the areas held by insurgent groups. However, airstrikes in other areas were also seen in the country, writes state news agency SANA.

SANA writes the airstrikes of Russia and Syria targeted Al Baby, eastern Aleppo Province city that has been held by Islamic State for long.
