Thailand Rocked By Dozen Blasts In A day

Thailand has been rocked by eleven bombings killing at least four people and wounding 36 others including ten foreigners. It is yet to be known whether all the blasts are connected.

No group has yet claimed responsibility of the attack and Thai police said no evidence of international terrorism has been found.

Deputy Police Spokesman Maj. Gen. Piyapan Pingmuang said, “These incidents are different from the usual terrorism acts. They are more local sabotage on certain locations and provinces.”

In recent years the country had been suffering from political unrest. Today’s multiple attacks came days before the Erawan Shrine bombing first anniversary that killed 20.

However, the explosions are also not found to be linked with Erawan bombing.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said perpetrators will be brought to justice and his government will investigate and bring them to legal prosecution with the best ability.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious too while visiting tourist places in the country and report to officials finding anything unusual as such steps will help each other unitedly and achieve stability as well as safety in the country.

Referring to the recent constitutional referendum he said, “We won’t create any conflicts with anyone., we must not blame each other. Thais must be united as one.”
