Scotland police has tightened security in London for the New Year Eve celebration and urged people to be alert and report to police and other authorities if suspicious activity is seen.

Over 3,000 police is learned to be patroling the streets of United Kingdom capital on New Year’s Eve amid mounting up of a major operation to keep revellers safe.

It is learned security plans have been adjusted in the wake of past two lorry attacks in Nice and Berlin.

Det Supt Phil Langworthy, “Clearly we have been looking at what has happened around the world in terms of Berlin, Nice, etcetera, and have adjusted our plans and continue to adjust our plans.”

Travelers and holidayers in hundreds of thousands are being expected to gather in Trafalgar Square and along the Thames to watch the spectacular view of London’s annual firework display.
